What happened here? A giant (very giant) meteor?

This national monument located in Arizona is a monster hole. And it’s also deceiving. From the top of this hole, it does not look as deep as it actually is. But, if you hike down to the very bottom (it’s a mile deep!) and look up, it seems as though you’ll never get out. It takes a day to get down and a day to get out (yeah, really long) If you look closely, you can see a giant river, which really looks like a small little lake with a bridge on it, but is actually a very large river. You can learn about the history of this magnificent place by coming to this place. There is a museum that has some information including models, writings and the real thing, since this museum overlooks it. You can also have tour guides, who will explain it to you. You can get great views of this place by walking around. This is a very interesting place that I would recommend a visit.

And now, to reveal what this place is. This is one of the most famous landmarks in the US. It’s called… the Grand Canyon! Yes, it actually is. For those of you who do not know what the Grand Canyon is, it’s a giant hole in the ground with various platforms at different heights, although, from where you walk around, to the lowest point is a mile straight down. This canyon was made by the river, not a meteor or shifting tectonic plates, just the river slowly washing away bit by bit for years after years, and it’s still doing that today.

Thank you for staying with me and reading my blogs. I really enjoyed hearing your comments and I hope I can keep writing. Again, thank you.

P.S. Here’s a gallery of our pictures. Hope you enjoy.
